Lately feeling fear has been on a lot of minds. Fear of starting school for the first time, fear of working in a strange environment or under new circumstances, fear of a country reckoning with its past.
In some instances being fearful can be helpful. But while flight, fight or freeze is the standard response, I’d like to invite you to feel your fear with curiosity. What does it really even mean? Could you call the energy excited and try enjoying the process?
So you’ve gotten a new job, and it’s all-remote, and you’re going to be training from home for two weeks before you do it on your own. Can you really lean into the fear you feel, get all your questions answered, and make it a great experience, so when you’re working on your own, you feel more confident? Can you model that behavior for your kids, so they can see you tackling change and learn from it, and from you?
Fear is a natural response in many situations. And there will be instances where you’ll need more information, money, or time, before moving forward with what you’d like to do. But in the majority of instances, you can at least start moving toward what you’re afraid of so you can feel the fear and do it anyway.
If you’re feeling fear of being yourself or letting your creativity show, let’s get on a call and see how I can help you live a life true to yourself.
