There’s traditional wisdom that says spiders are the bearers of good news, and that’s why you don’t kill them, you just rehome them if you find them inside your house. How does that relate to momming in the current world?
Try to treat yourself like a folklore spider – bringing good news where you go. And try to encourage yourself to treat others like spiders bringing good news. And if they’re not at least try to rehome them gently. Not everyone is meant for you, and you don’t need to keep everyone in your life who wants to be there.
Setting boundaries is important, for people and spiders.
And, to be honest, I rehome them and sometimes call for another adult to deal with it. And that’s ok, too. Be gentle with yourself and expect good things!
