If you’ve ever done anything poorly, you probably started before you thought you were ready. It’s an important skill to cultivate, and matters a great deal when discussing success.
Imagine if Serena Williams hadn’t started playing tennis until she was ready – she’d never have started. That’s the trap. If you wait until you’re ready to do something, you’ll always be chasing after that next moment, or that next lesson, or one more day to practice, or one more this or that.
So go close to the water’s edge. Make sure you know how to swim. Get your toes wet. And then go all the way in.
